Master Name Index
What a project. What an undertaking. Literally, there are thousands
of names that have been recorded over the years in various churches, court houses, deeds offices, family bibles...the list goes on and on.
What Hatteras Island Archives, is attempting to do is become a huge information through documentation online vault. Click on any name, and you will have access to census, birth certificates, bonds, death certificates, land records, and marriage certificates.
If you have any of the above mentioned type documents in your family collection and would like for them to be posted to Hatteras Island Archives, please us the "Contact Form", in the navigation menu above. I'll be more than happy to post them to the website.
As with all documents, they have been obtained from various
sources. Death certificates are a very personal and private thing
to some. If you are closely related to anyone listed and do not
feel comfortable with it being up, please contact me and it will be removed at your request. With the addition of each new certificate,
I try my best to use respectful judgement on whether it should be
on the website. Otherwise, I hope that you find what is here,
a great resource when tracing your ancestry.
"I The Wed". Those three words have been lovingly uttered so
many times over the years. From "I do" to "I now pronounce you", nothing melts our hearts like the thought of our parents, grandparents, and great grandparents...tying those proverbial knots.
In this section of the Master Index, you will find Marriage Announcements, Certificates, License, and registries.
This sandbar that we call Cape Hatteras, has changed hands many times since recording of deeds & grants began way back when. In this section you will find evidence of the paper trails that tell of the evolution of the properties of our forefathers. At times there are even newspaper articles that are included along with them.
